A selection of recent comments from our guests.

We have just stayed at Elder Cottage for a short break. It is a most comfortable cottage with excellent facilities. The layout is very good, parking is very convenient and the welcome pack is very generous. We will most probably stay there again when visiting the Cotswolds.

Mr Caudwell

Really enjoyed our stay in a warm, cosy cottage and exploring the countryside. Hope to come again to visit Hidcote in the summer months. Many thanks for the welcome pack – much appreciated.

Judith & Jonny

Cosy, well equipped cottage, close to shops and pubs. Great place to explore the Cotswolds.

Mr Peck

Lovely homely cottage, had relaxing break in lovely area – Chipping Campden, Stratford and especially Broadway. Many thanks for welcome pack. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It’s the third time we’ve come to Elder Cottage and we enjoy it every time more. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and warm. The Cotswolds are wonderful. We love every bit of it. Nature, landscapes, villages and of course the friendly people. Thank you; we will be back.

Visit number four for us in this delightful cottage. Always cosy and clean with a lovely welcome pack. Lots of interesting places to visit on the doorstep an we had really nice weather. Good food at the Kings Arms and great local shop. No dog this year unfortunately but we still had a great holiday.

Julie & Steve

Lost count of the number of years we have been coming to this lovely cosy cottage. As usual everything was perfect (except the weather!) Had some very good meals at the Kings Arms and Butchers Arms. Lots of pretty villages nearby, Chipping Campden, Broadway and Tower, Stratford Upon Avon etc. A lovely relaxing fortnight. Thank you David. See you next year.

Maureen & Tim

Our first visit to Elder Cottage and we have had a lovely relaxing break. We found the cottage very cosy and homely – just what’s needed in November. Lovely to arrive to a welcome pack. We enjoyed drinking mulled wine in the little garden and watching the World Cup on TV in the evenings.

Nigel & Tina

Great holiday in lovely cottage. The village and surrounding areas are great for anyone who loves the countryside, with lots of cosy pubs and brilliant walks.

S

We had a very enjoyable week at Elder Cottage – it was very cosy and homely. Well located to visit Broadway and Chipping Campden. We will look forward to staying again next year.

The cottage was very clean and inviting. The garden was wonderful. We had a long 4 week stay and was never uncomfortable and appreciated the fresh laundry every week. Would definitely stay again.

M

This is a lovely, compact cottage perfect for a couple. It is comfortable with a nice courtyard garden to relax in if the weather is good and it certainly was the week we stayed. Mickleton is an ideal village as a base for sightseeing in the Cotswolds, Stratford upon Avon or further afield. The Kings Head pub does great food and is literally across the road. Would recommend staying here.

Mrs Darvill

Lovely cottage in a great village location with a secluded sunny garden. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with added kitchen supplies that were much appreciated. Thanks for a great stay.

Ms Waller

We really enjoyed our stay at Elder Cottage and highly recommend it. The cottage was clean and had everything needed for a week’s stay, including lots of leaflets on the local area. David had also kindly provided a welcome food pack. We enjoyed sitting out in the pretty garden. Mickleton is a charming village. We were able to get most essential supplies at the Village Stores and we ate at the Kings Arms a couple of times, which we can also recommend wholeheartedly. Mickleton is very close to Hidcote and Kiftsgate Court gardens, Chipping Campden, Stratford-on-Avon and Broadway and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Lydia

Beautifully presented cosy cottage, well equipped and comfortable. Much appreciated welcome pack, milk, butter, bread, orange juice, cake and wine! Nice pubs, The King’s Arms across the road was lovely with very welcoming staff but booking essential if you want dinner, which was excellent. Another pub and well stocked shop a couple of minutes walk away. Nearby Chipping Campden is a pretty typical Cotswold town to walk around, Hidcote, a few minutes away is lovely also Charlecote Park near Stratford upon Avon worth a visit too. Unfortunately we couldn’t walk out as the ground is too boggy after recent rains but in dryer weather there are lovely walks in the area.

Mrs Evans

The cottage was well located, easy to find and just what we needed for our holiday. The generous supply of goodies left by the owner was really appreciated, although not all needed. Access was easy and we didn’t need to contact the owner at all to sort out any problems as everything worked so well. We would certainly consider booking Elder Cottage again if we came back to the Cotswolds.

Mr Hillman

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Really clean and tidy. Felt like a home away from home, thank you.

Lucy

The cottage was just what we wanted; warm, fully equipped and an ideal base for exploring the northern Cotswolds. We appreciated the nice extras left for us. Would definitely stay again.

Mr Leonard

This was my first cottage holiday and it exceeded my expectations. The cottage was lovely and clean and very well presented. It made me feel very welcome. Thank you for a lovely week and a memorable experience.

Mr Dunne

Your thoughtfulness and attention to detail in considering your incoming guests. We had a great stay, wish it could have been longer.

Mr Bridge

A very well equipped small cottage in an excellent location. Mickleton has good facilities and is close to several places of interest. Good walks within easy reach. David, the owner, was quickly responsive when a problem occurred. He had also provided a very good welcome pack.

Mrs Ambler

An ideal small cottage located in the centre of picturesque Cotswold village. Within easy reach of all the local attractions, with a great restaurant and pub within a short walking distance. We can thoroughly recommend.

Mr Yale

It was a perfect little cottage for two people. Very comfy and situated in a very convenient location. We would love to go back again at some time in the future.

Mr Yale

We are now back from our super week in Mickleton and just wanted to say how much we loved the cottage. It is absolutely perfect for two people. Mickleton is so well placed to do so much exploring. I have been raving about the house and the area to our friends and would highly recommend it!
Heather & Richard, Wiltshire

The property is centrally positioned to access the Cotswolds, together with Stratford, Evesham and Worcester. Mickleton itself houses a nice general store and good walks. The cottage has a nice sized bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The living rooms open up to a lovely garden. All the utensils were catered for and the welcome pack was a nice touch.

Mrs Sneath

As well as tea and coffee, David the owner left bread, biscuits, a Victoria sponge, orange juice and a bottle of wine for us in the cottage. This was more than we expected.

Mr McCormack

Elder Cottage is cosy, comfortable and well appointed in the centre of Mickleton – the perfect getaway!

Mr Mullen

Please feel free to pass on to the owner. We much appreciated the welcome gifts of butter, milk, orange juice, cake(!) and biscuits – very thoughtful. The house was small, but perfectly formed, comfortable and generally well equipped.

Mr Thompson

This cottage is in a fantastic location, everything on your doorstep great pubs, shop, restaurant. Also great location for visiting Cotswolds attractions. The cottage has everything you need and more, lovely garden, very clean and fantastic extras. David was great when we booked could not have been more helpful. Will definitely be back, could not fault this cottage and location.

Canterbury

We recently stayed at Elder Cottage & what a lovely few days they were. The cottage is cosy, clean, tastefully decorated & very homely. Village shop literally around the corner, lovely village butchers & fantastic pub that serve delicious meals, just across the road. There is a lovely garden with various trees & shrubs, local squirrel visits also, very peaceful setting. Hidcote Manor is just a mile away, well worth a visit, as is Bourton-on-the-water & Broadway, lovely Cotswold villages. Thank you David for the extras left for us,we didn’t need to get supplies in as there was so much left for us to enjoy our stay even more.
We hope to return again soon.

Lovely cottage in a lovely village! Local pub right across the road with fantastic food. Shop also nearby. Thank you!

L – Hampshire

The cottage is clean, comfortable with a lovely cosy bed. There were plenty of utensils, pots and pans if you need to cook anything. There is a small private garden and parking space right outside the door. It is ideal for touring the Cotswolds. The local pubs are friendly and welcoming. Would recommend The Kings Head just across the road, good for food, drinks, wifi and log fire. Loved coming back to the cottage after days out and about.

This cottage is in the middle of the village, but you would not know it as it is so quiet. We have stayed before when owned by Mrs Stone. I am pleased to say that Mr Edwards has maintained the same high standard as she set. We will be looking to book it again early in the new year.
